The revamped Twenty20 competition, known in 2010 as the Friends Provident T20 will consist of 8 home and 8 away matches in the group stage, which this year is simply split north and south. The teams in the previous Northern Division are joined by Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. Yorkshire Carnegie will kick off their T20 campaign with the visit of Derbyshire Falcons on 3rd June with just one days preparation available to Martyn Moxon and the coaching staff after the aforementioned Roses match. The team actually have to slip between the longest and shortest formats more than once as the T20 group phase progresses through to the return leg against Derbyshire on 18th July. The Quarter-Finals take place over 26th and 27th July with the Finals Day at the Rose Bowl on Saturday 14th August.
The 40-over league reaches its conclusion on 4th September at Headingley Carnegie against Essex Eagles after which Yorkshire Carnegie will know whether they have qualified for the Semi-Finals on Saturday 11th September. Victory then would take them to a Lord’s Final just one week later on 18th September – the final match of the 2010 domestic season.
In amongst the battles on three Domestic fronts the Club also play a 3-day match against Loughborough UCCE between 10th and 12th May at Headingley Carnegie and will entertain India A at the same venue between 11th and 13th July.
And last, but definitely not least, there are two international fixtures at Headingley Carnegie in 2010 with the neutral Test between Pakistan and Australia starting on 21st July. England then play Pakistan in a One-Day International at Headingley Carnegie on 12th September.
We're looking forward to it and hope you can join us for an exciting 2010!
