HELP RUTH: When did the wall fall down?

We've received an interesting email from Ruth who has asked a question we do not know the answer to. Can anybody help?

RUTH'S EMAIL

I hope you can tell me which year the wall fell down!

I was brought up overlooking the ground from Cardigan Road and one very hot summer the wall, between the grounds and the Cardigan Road houses, fell down. On the Sunday during a Test Match ( I think)...no play on Sundays then, my mother looked out of the kitchen to see 3 small children continuing the cricket in the middle of the pitch...we'd scrambled over the wall . I don't remember any cross faces so maybe no official knew!

I can't remember the year though I remember the wall down! I hope you can help me as I've found nothing to help in your archive section.
