David Wainwright signs for three more years

Stewart Regan congratulates David Wainwright on his new deal

David (22) became an ever present member of the one-day side, finishing the 2007 campaign with 17 wickets at a cost of only 21.39 runs apiece, with a man-of-the-match best bowling of 3-6 against Durham Dynamos in The Twenty20 Cup at Headingley Carnegie in June.

David said, “I'm really pleased to sign a new deal with the Club. 2007 was a terrific season to be playing for Yorkshire and the work doesn't stop now. I want to cement my place in the one-day side and work my way into Yorkshire's LV County Championship team.”

Stewart Regan added, “It is always good to see a young Yorkshire player do well at Headingley Carnegie. David produced some tremendous performances in 2007 and this new 3-year deal is a reward for the hard work he has put in at the Club.”
