ECB names England Performance Programme squad for first half of Winter 2007-8

Tim Bresnan joins Adil Rashid in the ECB England Performance Programme

The High Performance Camp in India will be based in Mohali and Chennai and it is planned to play two 4-day matches. In addition to providing an ideal environment for members of the EPP to develop their skills, the High Performance Camp will also help to ensure that stand-by players for the England Test squad's tour of Sri Lanka are well prepared in the event of any call-ups.

An England Lions ODI Tour is planned for February 2008 (venue and opposition to be confirmed). The squad for this tour will be confirmed in late December and the tour will be preceded by a preparation programme at Loughborough in January 2008.

The 16-man England Performance Programme Squad for the first half of the winter is:

Moeen Ali (Worcestershire)
Tim Ambrose (Warwickshire)
Ravi Bopara (Essex)
Tim Bresnan (Yorkshire)
Stuart Broad (Leicestershire)
Steven Davies (Worcestershire)
Joe Denly (Kent)
James Hildreth (Somerset)
Phil Mustard (Durham)
Graham Onions (Durham)
Adil Rashid (Yorkshire)
Chris Schofield (Surrey)
James Tredwell (Kent)
Chris Tremlett (Hampshire)
Jonathan Trott (Warwickshire)
Luke Wright (Sussex)

Chairman of Selectors, David Graveney, said, “The Test squad for the Sri Lanka Test Series will not be finalised until after the end of the current ODI Series and a number of players within this EPP squad will be considered by the Selectors for potential inclusion in the Test Squad.”
