YCCC are searching for the soundtrack to 2010 season

YCCC has received a great selection of music from entrants into the Search for a Soundtrack to the 2010 season, but the search continues...

The Club is encouraging talented unsigned Yorkshire bands to send in their music and become part of the Club’s official soundtrack to the 2010 summer. Music of all genres are required to reflect the highs and lows of a Yorkshire cricket season.

D'Nile, who were a popular entrant last year have also been back in touch. They are currently in the studio recording a second CD and have promised the tracks to YCCC for use by the Club. The band have gone from strength-to-strength since they first got in touch with YCCC last winter. A performance at the Leeds Reading Festival raised their profile and the future looks bright for the Harrogate based rock band.

D'Nile are playing The Cockpit in Leeds on Friday January 29th 2010 and would welcome a few Yorkshire supporters in the audience.  See http://www.myspace.com/dnileuk and http://www.thecockpit.co.uk/ for further details on the band and the gig.

All entrants will receive two free tickets to a Yorkshire match at Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground in 2010 and the chosen music will be featured in the Club’s online activity throughout the year. Any music featured will be fully accredited and links provided to the band's website or social networking page. Selected entrants will also receive airplay on Yorkshire Radio, an Official Media Partner of the Club.

James Buttler, PR & Communications Manager, said: “Last season we had a great response and used music from The Loose Chippings, D-Nile and Dead Like Harry amongst others.  Unsigned bands can support the Club and get some much needed exposure. Who knows your song may even become the teams ‘run on’ music for our 2010 Twenty20 campaign.”

If your would like to lend your musical support to the cricket club with the proudest history in domestic cricket, send a CD to James Buttler, PR & Communications Manager, The Yorkshire County Cricket Club, Headingley Carnegie Stadium, St Michael’s Lane, Leeds, LS7 3BU or email your music to comps@yorkshireccc.com. Don't forget to tell us a bit about you!

Please note CDs will not be returned and no fees will be paid.
