The YCCC Charitable Youth Trust
Encouraging youth throughout Yorkshire to take an active interest in cricket, the Trustees encourage and welcome financial support from Yorkshire members.
The Trust is proud of its connection with the Club, but is totally independent, working under Chairman, Charles Fenton and a number of experienced trustees. The Trust also incorporates the ‘Sir Len Hutton Foundation’ which lends its name to the Enjoy Cricket annual summer coaching sessions which for many years have been held throughout Yorkshire and this year take place in 41 different locations.
The aim of the Trust is to encourage young people to play sport, in particular cricket, and to this end seeks to raise funds which makes it makes available to suitable applicants. Grants are usually made to clubs and organisations who justify to the Trustees how their request will meet the stated criteria.
In the recent past awards have been made to: Yorkshire Senior Schools Cricket Association, Sport Aid for Yorks and Humber, Eddy Nelson A&W U13s Tournament, Scarborough CC Academy, Kings Camp, Bolton Villas CC, Wibsey Park Chapel CC, YCCC .
Many young people have enjoyed learning greater skills due to the various grants made to their organisations and clubs over the past 20 years. Anyone can help by making a donation to the Trust at any time, but we will give members a specific opportunity to do so when renewing their YCCC membership for 2009.
We hope you will agree that youngsters involved in sport are much more likely to grow into good citizens!
