Our Coaches

Just some of the highly talented coaches on offer...

Simon Guy - Had 12 years as a professional cricketer with Yorkshire CCC. He is a level 4 qualified coach of which there are only a handful in the UK. He has worked with England Ladies and the England Academy and specialises in wicketkeeping and batting coaching.

Mark Lawson - With 7 years experience of being a professional cricketer Mark played for both Yorkshire and Derbyshire as a leg spin bowler. He is widely regarded as one of the best spin bowling coaches in the UK and works with all the Pro Coach young spin bowlers. Mark heads up the specialist spin camps and coaching academies and is also a lead coach on the Elite Academies.

John Wood - Played 15 years as a professional cricketer with Durham and Lancashire as a fast bowler. He is a level 3 qualified coach and has coached at various levels since his retirement from playing. He regularly works on our Elite and Development Academies with the young fast bowlers. 

Chris Taylor - With over 10 years experience now as a professional cricketer Chris has scored over 2500 first team runs with both Yorkshire and Derbyshire. He has a strong coaching background in the UK and abroad and has helped in the development of many of Yorkshires current young cricketers progressing from club cricket toward counties honours. Chris specialises in batting coaching.

Andrew Gale - the Yorkshire and England Lions captain and one of Yorkshire's star batsmen, Andrew  has developed a glowing reputation with the bat in all forms of the game. Andrew's coaching ability is also extremely well regarded, and as a Level 3 qualified coach he is one of our Head coaches working on many of our courses throughout the year.

Tony Pickersgill - An ECB Level 3 coach, Tony is one of the County's most experienced coaches and also manages Yorkshire U 14's, whilst coaching the U11's, U12's and U15's. A vastly experienced player, he now represents Yorkshire in the over 50's team.

Sam Lavery - Vastly experienced player and coach gained from playing and coaching all around the world,  Sam previously coached with Hampshire CCC as well as being Head coach of the Royal Navy 1^st XI and various University 1st XIs. Sam also has a strong back ground in Sports Science studying at degree level, as well as studying Sports Performance at Masters degree level. As coaching manager of Pro Coach Yorkshire Cricket he is available for all kinds of coaching and is a specialist one to one coach.  

Tim Bresnan - An England international Ashes squad member Tim Bresnan is one of England's leading all round cricketers. A keen coach, Tim has been involved in our coaching set up for a number of years , leading many of our fast bowling master classes as well as being instrumental in the delivery of our elite courses.

Andy Rowsell - ECB Level 3 and qualified Staff Coach and former Head of the Indoor Centre, Andy is now responsible for Yorkshire CCC's emerging players, whilst continuing to manage the successful Yorkshire U15's team.  Andy's role sees him oversee the development of all youngsters from 11-16 years of age.  

Adil Rashid - England's leading leg spinner and a talented batsmen with over 50 first class games to his name, Adil has been involved in many of our master classes and elite academies, passing on his knowledge to young spin bowlers from across the region.

Gulam Rafique - An extremely experienced player and coach, Ghulam has a strong sports science and personal training background as well as being an ECB Level 3 coach.
