Bradford & Bingley Indoor Cricket Centre

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is to benefit from a three-year sponsorship agreement with Bradford & Bingley.

As of Wednesday 8th June 2005 the indoor cricket school will be known as the Bradford & Bingley Indoor Cricket School. It is hoped that the sponsorship will provide essential funding to enhance both the facilities at the centre and for the community.

The tie up between Yorkshire CCC and Bradford & Bingley will aim to highlight minority cricket and will place particular emphasis on disabled, black, ethnic, and women's cricket by forming specialist leagues and encouraging other cricket related activity in the newly named centre.

Commenting on the new sponsorship, Ian Bishop, marketing director for The Yorkshire County Cricket Club said: “We are delighted to have yet another big, local, organisation together with Leeds City Council who are prepared to invest in the future of Yorkshire Cricket. With the emphasis of the deal designed to help the development of minority cricket solely within the County, this valuable funding enables the club to further enhance its reputation as the hub of cricket in Yorkshire”.

Mike Hammond, community affairs manager at Bradford & Bingley said: “Its is important that as a locally based business we support our community. Sponsoring the Indoor Cricket Centre, gives us a chance to make a difference to the club and to people who will be encouraged to use it as part of the new initiatives. Bradford & Bingley strongly believes that this type of investment has a positive effect on the area and the people and hence our customers and staffs lives.”
