The Drax Cup Experience
Pupils from High View school have told us their thoughts about winning the Drax Cup Final 2008. Here is what the team thought of their day!!
"I can't believe I have played on the same ground as Yorkshire and England. The Drax cup is so big it nearly came up to my knees. It was a brilliant day!! "(Eaton)
"I was so disappointed the weather stopped us watching the Twenty - 20 match but it was still a great experience being able to use the same facilities as famous players, even Geoffery Boycott" (Jack)
"It was fantastic having the chance to meet Darren Gough, Jaques Rudolf, Matthew Hoggard and other famous players. I cannot believe I have stood in the same place in the Hall of Fame as Shane Warne. My dad was even interviewed on telly!! (Lewis)
"We received fantastic prizes and I will treasure them all my life. I was so proud and can't wait for everyone in school to see the massive cup and our names engraved on it" (Matthew)
"When I was bowling a camera man got in the way trying to film us and I nearly hit him!! It was good to hear my name being announced over the loudspeaker while I was playing" (Brandon)
"I felt really disappointed because I couldn't play in the Final but the rest of the team had promised they would try and win the cup for me - and they did!! (Regan)
"I enjoyed meeting the England players and Darren Gough. I really liked him. (Abbie-Lee)
"My family were really proud of us all. They said we had worked really well as a team. It was funny when the camera man got very close to my face! My granddad enjoyed seeing my name on the scoreboard. (Morgan)
" I felt sorry Regan was injured and could not play but still excited that I had the chance. I was frustrated we could not watch the Twenty- 20 match because of the weather but still had a great time. I was glad to be Brandon' s batting partner. (Cameron)
