'Underdogs grab the title'

After defeating Baildon and Hyde Park in the Semi Finals respectively, a combination of youth and experience led Cool Runnings to face red hot favourites Taurus Sports in the final of the YCCC Cricket Centre Indoor League.

There are two leagues in both autumn and spring that run on a Sunday and a Tuesday evening over 11 weeks. The top four from each league then compete on one evening in a knockout tournament that culminates in a final to be crowned Indoor League Champions.

In the final, Cool Runnings posted a competitive total of 102 from their 10 overs, with Hansaq Mir striking 29 and Azad Hussain 23. Taurus Sports came out all guns blazing and were soon 44-0 from 3 overs. What appeared to be a walk in the park for Taurus soon turned in to an upset as Mir’s two wickets in three balls and then two run outs in two balls, courtesy of Azad Hussain, completed the win with Taurus falling 17 runs adrift.
