A little bit of Tanzania at Headingley Carnegie
Yorkshire CCC is followed far and wide across the globe and ahead of the FP t20 match against Warwickshire Bears on Sunday we recruited a few more supporters from Tanzania.
8 children and 4 staff from three schools in Korogue in North East Tanzania visited Headingley Carnegie to get to grips with cricket by taking part in a coaching session in the Indoor Cricket School. They then stayed on to watch the thrills and spills of t20 cricket and will have been disappointed to see Carnegie mauled by the Bears.
Our visitors from Tanzania were in Yorkshire as part of a long-term tie up with York High School. The connection started through the Youth Sports Trust's initiative called Dreams and Teams which has now grown into the Connecting Classrooms programme which links regions together to fulfil and promote the seven Olympic ideals - equality, determination, respect, inspiration, courage, friendship and excellence.
It was great to have our visitors with us and we hope they enjoy the rest of their stay in the UK.
