Academy hopefuls suffer League and Cup washout

Double washout: A desperately disappointed Yorkshire Academy squad lost both their League and Cup matches to the rain this weekend

It was a double washout for Yorkshire Academy this weekend when their Solly Sports ECB Yorkshire County Premier League Cup semi-final clash with York at Weetwood was called off at 1.15pm today after more rain last night and this morning.

I had reached the M18 yesterday when I learned that the Academy's League match at Appleby Frodingham had been cancelled. Sunday, August 21, is now the suggested date for the Cup semi-final.
