Appleyard's 200-wicket diamond year honoured

60 Years On: 2011 marks the diamond anniversary of Yorkshire Past President Bob Appleyard's feat of taking 200 First Class wickets in a season, and to mark the occasion the association presented Bob with a framed match-by-match breakdown of his bowling analyses in 1951. It is 60 years since Yorkshire Past President Bob Appleyard, centre, accomplished the very rare feat of taking 200 First Class wickets in a season.

To mark this diamond anniversary the Supporters' Association presented Bob with a framed match-by-match breakdown of his bowling analyses in what was Festival of Britain year.

The presentation, above, was made at Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground by four association members who witnessed his bowling that season: John Briggs, John Harrison, Pam Martin and Brian Senior.
