Bairstow & Root in Lions squad for Sri Lanka

Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root have kept their places in a revised 15-man England Lions squad for the five match One-Day Series against Sri Lanka ‘A’ which begins next Friday.
Jade Dernbach, Craig Kieswetter, Samit Patel and Chris Woakes have been included in a tour party featuring eleven other members of the Lions squad which recently took on Bangladesh ‘A’ in a five-match One-Day series in Bangladesh, losing 3-2.
The quartet will take the place of five other players, Simon Kerrigan, Tom Maynard, Tymal Mills, Boyd Rankin and Jason Roy, who will all return to their counties at the end of the Bangladesh tour.
ECB National Selector Geoff Miller said: "The Sri Lanka tour will provide a further opportunity for us to assess players in the 50-Over format before we finalise selection for the senior team’s One-Day Series against Pakistan in UAE next month. Jade Dernbach, Craig Kieswetter, Samit Patel and Chris Woakes will be keen to use this tour to press their claims for a place in our One-Day Squad as will the other Lions players who recently completed the tour of Bangladesh."
