Bairstow Gets Yorkshire's 2009 Denis Compton Award
Jonathan Bairstow is the Yorkshire recipient of the prestigious Denis Compton Award for 2009. Adil Rashid had been Yorkshire's winner for the previous three seasons.

The overall winner of the title "Compton Scholar" for 2009, selected from the 18 first-class counties was James Taylor of Leicestershire. James received the Trophy which was presented by Mrs. Christine Compton.
The Nominations were for the Most Promising Young Cricketers yet to be selected for England at Senior level.
