Bresnan and Rashid join England party
Adil Rashid has been included in both the Test and One-Day England squads to tour South Africa this winter and Tim Bresnan has been named in the One-Day squad. The 16-man Test and ODI squads were announced by the England selectors today for the tour which begins next month.
The Test squad contains three uncapped players; Surrey wicketkeeper Steven Davies, Yorkshire leg-spinner Adil Rashid and the Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright. Durham pace bowler Liam Plunkett has also been recalled to the Test squad. Essex opener Alastair Cook has been named as vice-captain of the Test squad and he has also been recalled to the One-Day squad together with Lancashire quick bowler Sajid Mahmood. Jonathan Trott, who made a century on his Test debut in England's victory over Australia at The Brit Oval this summer, wins a place in both squads.
The notable names missing from the touring sides are Ravi Bopara and Owais Shah who have not been included in either squad. Monty Panesar has also not been included.
