Bresnan has successful operation
News categories
The ECB medical team can confirm that Yorkshire and England bowler Tim Bresnan has undergone an uncomplicated operation on his right elbow to remove extra bone and scar tissue.
Bresnan will undergo a six to eight week rehabilitation and then move onto a bowling programme before returning to competitive cricket early in the summer.
The 27-year-old has spent the last week in Minnesota, USA where he had the procedure with highly-respected surgeon Dr Shawn O’Driscoll.
“We always like welcoming back our international players to Yorkshire,” said Yorkshire head coach, Jason Gillespie, who welcomed Bresnan back to Headingley over the past fortnight before heading to the USA for his operation.
“We wish Tim well with his rehabilitation and we will work closely with the ECB to ensure he has the best possible recovery. If all goes to plan, we could see him playing competitive cricket again at the start of the new season.”
