CLt20: Blue skies and sun - this can't be cricket!
Well actually during the first training session it was largely football and some aerobic work, but let's not quibble. The Yorkshire side landed in Johannesburg early on Wednesday morning and after a day of rest and acclimatisation were straight into training on Thursday and Friday.
A picteuresque setting of St Stithians School played host to the first two morning sessions as the 15-man squad (currently 14 as David Miller is set to join the team on Monday) began work.
The squad, sporting Welcome to Yorkshire on their tops due to the help of Yorkshire's tourism organisation, were positively buzzing to have their season extended in such a beautiful setting.
It seems rather strange to be reporting cricket under clear blue skies with the sun beating down after the summer we've just experienced in the UK, but this appearance in the Karbonn Smart CLt20 is a well earned reward for a successful season in the shortest format.
Andrew Gale's side begin competitive action against UVA Next of Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
