CLUB: YORKSHIRE'S GROUNDS SCOOP UP AWARDS

Yorkshire County Cricket Club and Scarborough Cricket Club’s grounds staff have been awarded prizes for their efforts at the ECB’s 2012 Groundsman of the Year Awards.
This year Yorkshire’s Head Groundsman Andy Fogarty came runner up in the ECB’s one day pitch category, whilst Gareth Milthorpe’s efforts at Weetwood won him the title for the MCCU category.
John Dodds from Scarborough Cricket Club was also awarded Outground of the Year, making it a triple win for Yorkshire CCC.
Martyn Moxon, Director of Cricket said: “Massive congratualtions to Andy and his team at Headingley and to Gareth Milthorpe and John Dodds too. The awards are a true testament to their hard work, commitment and pride in what they do.”
Pitches are rated at the end of every match by umpires and the ratings are used for marking and grading to determine the award winners.
