England at Headingley
Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground, along with The Brit Oval, has an international match schedule which guarantees that it will host England fixtures every year from 2011 to 2019.
The following eight years will see us staging both a Test and an ODI every summer. In 2012, for example, we welcome South Africa (Test) and the West Indies (ODI) to our famous ground.
In order to celebrate this fact, and following the fantastic Ashes victory down-under, we are introducing a new ‘England at Headingley’ Club. It is intended to cater specifically for those who regularly enjoy the special experience of watching England at the home of YCCC.
Headingley has provided the setting for numerous famous and memorable international matches. These include the pivotal third Test of the 1981 ‘Botham’s Ashes’ series, Sir Donald Bradman scoring 309 in a day in 1930 and Geoffrey Boycott’s 100th first class century, against Australia in 1977.
The world’s greatest cricketers love playing here and we know you’ll love watching them. After all, Headingley is where ‘miracles’ happen!
