Gale talks to @Yorkshire_ccc Official YCCC Twitter
News categories
The @Yorkshire_ccc official Twitter feed caught up with Yorkshire captain Andrew Gale last night to see how he was enjoying his tour of Australia as part of the England Performance squad.
An unbeaten century (113no) against a Western Australia XI in the last match in a very warm Perth meant we found him in good spirits.
And the skipper is backing Tim Bresnan for the much talked about bowling spot in Perth for the 3rd Test.

Q: Hi skipper. YCCC followers pleased to see a Gale ton down under. How are you finding your tour so far? Hard work, fun, or both?
A: It’s been good hard training. All the tykes have enjoyed it. 35degrees today so can’t say I’m excited to come home!
Q: Out there with Lythy & Jonny. How have they found 1st trip at this level - you're becoming a seasoned pro now! Missing captaincy?
A: Dont worry I’ve looked after them, cooked for them both. Missing being around the lads at home but hear they’re training hard.
Q: James Hildreth captain in last tour game - you disappointed not to be doing that job? But good to get unbeaten ton?
A: Wanna give others a try, nice to just go out and play without the pressures of captaincy, great to get a ton in the last game.
Q: What do u miss most on tour? What one thing have you learnt out there? When do you come back home?
A: The missus, the seasons, the dog and the Yorkshire lads. Been working really hard on the pull shot and my balance. Get home on 17th then back out to the West Indies on the 24 Jan.
Q: Easy life eh? With England doing so well in Ashes is it a double edged sword? You'd like to have taken a batsman's place?
A: Not easy at all, very tough at times, training all day is very tiring but wouldn't change it for the world. England doing well in the ashes is good for English cricket, I’ve just gotta keep churning the runs out.
Q: What's your prediction for Ashes? And if you had to pick now would it be Tremlett, Tim Bresnan or Ajmal Shahzad in 3rd Test team?
A: England will win 3 nil. I'd go Bres, think he deserves a chance, got experience as well.
Q: And finally - what are realistic Yorkshire hopes for 2011? And to round off send one final tweet to followers of @Yorkshire_ccc
A: We want to win some silverware and go one further than last year, still areas to work on but plans are in place.
A: 2010 was when Yorkshire cricket was reborn, 2011 is going to be even more exciting so get right behind us. sleep well Tykes
Thanks to Andrew Gale.
