Grey Fox Trophy 2012 - Enter Now
Attention all cricketers over the age of 50, the 'Grey Fox Trophy' is back for a second year! Now is the time to find those woodworm-riddled bats and mouse-nibbled pads and compete for the right to play in the final at Headingley Carnegie!
Following the success of its inaugural year YCCC are pleased to announce that we will be continuing to offer support to the tournament during 2012. It will form an important part of our community programme for the season.
Many elder cricketing statesmen were lured out of retirement by the prospect of gracing the hallowed turf of LS6. This year, in order to further increase participation, the organisers are instigating a player 'pool'. That is to say that even those individuals without affiliation to a particular club will be able to take part as and when registered teams find themselves unable to raise a full XI.
Congratulations once again to the Bradford Bhuddays, our reigning Champions. Word has it that they're already strenghtening their squad with a view to making a successful defence of the title! With that in mind I should point out that dedicated winter nets sessions have been booked specifically for Grey Fox participants at the Indoor Cricket Centre here at Headingley. Details are as follows:
- Sundays (commencing Feb 19th 2011), 12:00pm - 1:00pm, £3 per person. Any over 50s player is welcome to attend, whether attached to a club or not.
