Happy birthday, President, and welcome back soon
Happy birthday to Yorkshire President Raymond Illingworth, who celebrates his 79th birthday tomorrow and is continuing to make a good recovery after his heart attack.
President Illingworth, who hopes to put in an appearance at Headingley Carnegie very shortly to watch one of the Friends Life t20 matches, said today: "I am starting to get out and about now, and I am beginning to feel much better."
The former Yorkshire, Leicestershire and England captain also plans to attend the Sir Leonard Huttion 364 Club luncheon at Headingley on June 23 and the one-day international between England and Sri Lank on July 1.
“Once again, I would like to thank everyone for all the kind messages and cards they have sent me, I appreciate it very much," he added.
One of England’s most successful captains, Raymond scored 24,134 First Class runs and captured 2,072 wickets.
