Lyth takes PCA Young Player Award

Adam Lyth has topped a tremendous season by receiving the Professional Cricketers' Association Young Player of the Year Award.

Lyth, 22, was the first batsman to pass 1000 first-class runs for the season and scored more than 2000 runs across all competitions which earned him a place in the England performance squad to tour Australia alongside the Ashes series.

Warwickshire all-rounder Neil Carter received the 2010 FTI Most Valuable Player. Carter, 35, enjoyed a prolific season for Warwickshire as he helped them retain Division One status in the County Championship and win the Clydesdale Bank 40 title with victory against Somerset at Lord's. In the Championship Carter scored 617 runs and took 51 wickets and in the CB40 hit a hundred and two fifties alongside claiming 16 Friends Provident t20 wickets.

Yorkshire's Adil Rashid was in second place.
