Lyth's Top of the Pots!
News categories
Adam Lyth became Yorkshire’s first player to reach 1,000 runs this week, and was immediately presented with a ‘Yorkshire Tea’ teapot and apron by YCCC’s Sales & Marketing Director, Richard Kaye.
Since Yorkshire Tea and YCCC joined forces for the ‘Runs for the Rainforest’ campaign, 8,870 trees have been saved. The campaign is part of the Yorkshire Rainforest Project – a long-term commitment by Taylors of Harrogate to protect an area of rainforest the size of Yorkshire. The family business will be working with the Rainforest Foundation UK to help protect a tree in the endangered Amazon Rainforest for every run the first XI score in the County Champion, 40 over and 20 Twenty matches.
After being presented with prizes, Adam said: “I am absolutely thrilled to be the first player to get to 1,000 runs. The whole team are behind the Runs for the Rainforest campaign and I’ve already saved just over an acre of trees on my own!”
