MEMORABILIA: Bring yours to sit with Lord Hawke

Yorkshire Cricket Museum: The first image you meet is that of Lord Hawke, the founding father of Yorkshire County Cricket Club

Yorkshire members and supporters are warmly invited to bring along their Yorkshire cricket memorabilia to an Open Day at Headingley Carnegie on Tuesday, September 4 - the first day of the LV County Championship match against Glamorgan.

The event, which is being organised by Yorkshire County Cricket Club Archives Committee, will take place in the Long Room. Chairman David Allan said: “We believe that many Yorkshire supporters must have collected interesting items over the years, and we thought an Open Day would give us the chance to take a look at them.

“We are always keen to see scrapbooks, photographs, letters and all other forms of Yorkshire memorabilia, and we would be delighted if people wanted to give, loan or sell us any items which we do not already possess. We would also be happy to photograph or copy anything which people do not want to part with.”

Archives Committee member Brian Sanderson has agreed to be in attendance at the Open Day, which will be held between 9.30am and 10.30am and during the lunch and tea intervals.
