Michael Barker Award - aid to young cricketers
A fund has been established through a legacy from the late Michael Barker to provide help to young cricketers in financial hardship.
A fund has been established through a legacy from the late Michael Barker to provide help to young cricketers in financial hardship.
The fund shall provide financial help to Young Cricketers unable to pursue their cricket opportunities where personal family and/or financial circumstances prohibit or restrict their acceptance and/or attendance or cricket activity.
Aid may be available to cover or to help cover the costs of travel, student fees or kit. Any grants will have an upper limit of £250.
Application for aid should be made on the appropriate form which is available from Ian Chappell, Chief Executive of Yorkshire Cricket Board at i.chappell@yorkshirecb.com. The application will treated in confidence. Details of individual awards will not be made public though overall annual figures will be. Successful applicants will be informed in writing and in confidence of any Award made even though this may be just a remit of fees.
