NatWest Pro40 at Trent Bridge ruined by rain
Only 13 overs were possible at Trent Bridge where the bottom two sides in NatWest Pro40 Division One were forced to settle for a weather affected draw.
Only 13 overs were possible at Trent Bridge where the bottom two sides in NatWest Pro40 Division One were forced to settle for a weather affected draw.
Yorkshire Carnegie had lost four of their five games in the competition so far and a fixture with rock bottom Nottinghamshire Outlaws that could have provided a much needed boost was abandoned less than an hour after the players took to the field.
Yorkshire Carnegie were in a good position to push on when the downpour started after recovering from losing both the toss and the wicket of Jacques Rudolph early in their innings.
Adam Lyth led the recovery with a quickfire 30 before Andy Carter forced a high top edge to Paul Franks, Andrew Gale was unbeaten on 23 when the game was rained off at five past five with the visitors 63 for two.
Martyn Moxon will now hope no delay is caused to the start of the LV County Championship game with Nottinghamshire tomorrow as the tykes look for much needed points to help salvage their Division One status.
