Pyrah receives county cap at Scarborough Festival

Richard Pyrah was all smiles ahead of today's CB40 match against Middlesex Panthers as he clutched his new Yorkshire cap after receiving it from his captain Andrew Gale.
The 27-year-old Dewsbury born all-rounder has enjoy a sparkling 2010 season for the White Rose County.
Richard has started six first-class matches this summer, including five LV= County Championship matches of which Yorkshire have won three. 304 runs have flowed from his bat at an average of 60.80, including a career high of 134* against Leeds-Bradford UCCE. He has taken 6 first-class wickets at 41.00 apiece.
But it is in one-day cricket that Richard has been most successful. 33 CB40 runs and 80 t20 runs at a combined average of 12.55 coming in at the end of the innings have been overshadowed by his bowling heroics.
He has taken 15 CB40 wickets at an average of 21.00 which have included two 4-wicket hauls and a best of 4-24. In the Friends Provident t20 he took 21 wickets at an average of 19.42 including a best on 3-12.
Richard made his Yorkshire one-day debut in 2001 and his first-class debut in 2004. His fielding is as good as any in the ring on the county circuit and in one-day cricket he is one of the first names on Andrew Gale's teamsheet.
