Rafiq withdraws from T20 opener

All-rounder Azeem Rafiq has been forced to withdraw from Yorkshire Vikings squad with a bruised finger ahead of their opening game against Hampshire Royals on Saturday at the 3Ws Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados.
Rafiq, who was an integral member of Yorkshire’s rise to T20 finals day last season, sustained the knock batting in Yorkshire’s two-day internal fixture earlier this week.
Academy prospect Will Rhodes has been drafted into the squad after impressing with the bat earlier this week.
“It is not too serious,” explained first team coach Jason Gillespie. “We have left Raf (Azeem Rafiq) out for precautionary reasons. He will be okay.”
