Seventy happy returns to Father of the Press Box
News categories
Congratulations on behalf of us all at Yorkshire County Cricket Club to "Father of the Press Box" David Warner, above, who celebrated his 70th birthday while covering Day 3 of Yorkshire's LV Championship match v. Leicestershire at Scarborough.
David, who has written daily reports on Yorkshire's matches since 1975 as well as contributing newspaper articles of informed comment on the Club's affairs throughout the year, is hard at work on his book to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Club's founding in 1863.
David, who is Editor of the Club Yearbook, has cut down on some of his newspaper columns in recent years, but he still writes daily match reports for the Press Asociation and end-of-season summaries for Wisden Cricketers' Almanack.
Very many happy returns, also, to Yorkshire Cricket Director Martyn Moxon, who is 52 today. If Yorkshire can beat Leicestershire and the rain, what do you give to the man who has everything?
