Yorkshire Pride Lottery Draw - Week 29 (6/5/11)
News categories
The draw for Week 29 of the Yorkshire Pride Lottery took place at Lottery HQ on Kirkstall Lane on the 6th of May 2011. We used set of balls number 112 and the machine chosen was 'The Captain's Knock'.
Lord above! I don't know what they've put in the water these last few days but it's been pretty hectic. I can only offer a pathetic and grovelling excuse and promise to do better next time. If truth be told I'm not particularly interested in the results when my name doesn't feature!
Those of you who were here yesterday for the first day of the Hampshire match will have noticed a film crew working in the Western Terrace. I know a few folk wanted to know what they were here for so I'll tell you. They were shooting a scene for a new BBC drama called 'Eternal Law'. Made by the same company who created both 'Ashes to Ashes', 'Life on Mars' and 'Spooks' it apparently tells the story of two angels sent to earth to work as lawyers in York! The scene called for one of the actors to catch the ball in the stand and then throw it back to the 'keeper. It's hopefully going to be out in November/December so keep your eyes peeled. An extra big thank you to my bat. It made a stunning cameo appearance. Quite why it refuses to behave so well when I'm holding it is completely beyond me!
Ok, onto matters lotterific. A huge Headingley 'well done' to Mrs. M. Wilsey from Cookridge for scooping the £1000 jackpot. I know she was very excited when mum phoned her with the news. It's great to be able to make someone so happy. I know that we could all do with a bit of extra cash these days. The main message is to keep positive. It's not only the corporates who win the big bucks. In fact, our last 3 jackpot winners have all been 'normal' punters. We've had some winners' photos done recently so I'm going to put them up on the website homepage as soon as I get a chance.
