Yorkshire Radio are calling all cricket fans!
Yorkshire Radio is once again an Official Media Partner of the Yorkshire County Cricket Club and will be bringing listeners updates on every game home and away and live coverage of all the club’s t20 games in 2012 AND they want you to play your part...
The station's cricket correspondent James Buttler will be providing Yorkshire Radio’s on air updates, live t20 commentary and interviews with players and coaches at the end of each day’s play as well as reporting on the official Yorkshire website and Twitter feed.
New for 2012 is Yorkshire Radio’s Cricket Show every Monday between 6-7pm from May 7th to August 6th.
The show will feature interviews with the Yorkshire team and legends of the game as well as the latest news on the club and a chance to win Yorkshire match tickets.
Yorkshire Radio are currently scouting for and selecting a Yorkshire Radio XI to be made up of Yorkshire cricket fans who would like to play their part in the live show, be in the studio and give their thoughts on the season and Yorkshire’s push for promotion back to Division 1.
Station Director Ben Fry thinks giving fans a voice is an important part of what Yorkshire Radio provides listeners: “We already have a Fans Panel who are a big part of our Leeds United coverage and Fans In The Stand for every Yorkshire Football team, so when we decided to launch an hour long cricket show it made sense to put together a Yorkshire Radio XI as nobody knows more about the club or can match the passion of the fans who watch the team every Summer”.
Yorkshire Radio’s cricket correspondent James Buttler added: “We have nearly 12,000 Twitter followers at the club who interact loudly and regularly so I’m sure we can find our XI to talk about their club on the new cricket show”.
If you are a huge cricket fan and would like a place on the Yorkshire Radio team then email email@example.com putting ‘Yorkshire Radio XI’ in the subject with your contact details before the end of April and we will select our Yorkshire Radio XI in time for the first show on May 7th.
Tell them why they should pick you and where you see yourself in the batting order – an opener with forthright opinions or a mystery spinner with deeper thinking? There are prizes up for grabs too!!
