Chairman of Yorkshire Players' Association and former left-hand opening batsman Bryan Stott with Audrey Woodhouse at The Anthony Woodhouse Library of Yorkshire Cricket in the meeting room at Yorkshire Cricket Centre at Headingley Carnegie.
The late Tony Woodhouse, Audrey’s husband, who was Yorkshire’s historian for many years and a Vice-President of the Club, had a vast collection of cricket books, and Audrey has donated some of them to the Library in his name for the specific use of current players.
It has been set up by the Yorkshire Players’ Association, and Bryan said: “We thought it was a wonderful idea to provide a library of Yorkshire cricket books so that our present players can learn more about the history of the Club.
“They will be able to read all about former players who have helped to make this the greatest cricket Club in the world. It is now up to the current crop of young players to continue this tradition, and these books should help them to appreciate what others before them have contributed.
“The Association is very grateful to Audrey for donating many of the books, and if anyone else would like to add titles to the library we would be delighted to receive them.”
