It may seem hard to believe, but the end of the 2009 cricket season is approaching fast.  The Yorkshire County Cricket Club is therefore pleased to announce the details of two upcoming events that will keep you in touch with Headingley Carnegie as winter approaches - the End of Season Dinner 2009 and a tribute dinner for Yorkshire President Brian Close.


End of Season Dinner 2009


Join the Yorkshire players and coaches and guest speaker Henry Olonga at the End of Season Dinner 2009.  The event is to be held in the Long Room at Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground on Monday 28th September 2009.  Tickets are priced £35 for members and £45 for non-members.

The night will feature a three-course meal and the End of Season Awards before Henry Olonga delivers an insight into his playing career and ends the night with a few songs from his new album!

I Took The Blows - A Tribute to Brian Close

Sixty years ago, current Yorkshire President Brian Close became England's youngest ever Test Cricketer - a record he still holds today.  During a sporting career lasting over 30 years, he scored over 35,000 runs, captained Yorkshire and Somerset, played football for Leeds United and Arsenal and played golf with a handicap of 3!

Join this remarkable sportsman and special guests Sir Ian Botham, Dickie Bird, Geoff Miller and Bryan Stott for a tribute dinner on Wednesday 14th October at Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground.
