Currently, the outfield lies ready for the fresh turf and demolition work ahead of the construction of our spectacular new pavilion. However, it is of course freezing, damp and thoroughly miserable outside.

With that in mind you will undoubtedly be interested to hear of the special pre-season tour packages being offered by our new Official YCCC Travel Club.

Following the success of the 1st XI last winter, coupled with that of the Academy at the end of last year, YCCC are taking a full squad back to Abu Dhabi in March to defend the Pro ARCH Trophy. This year we will be competing against Lancashire, Surrey, Sussex, Essex, Middlesex and the UAE for the ‘Kings of The Desert’ title!

Susan Gillespie, the Travel Club manager, has put together two splendid options for those of you keen to both catch some winter sun and also take a first look at YCCC’s squad as they prepare for the 2009 season. Remember, Michael Vaughan will be travelling with the party,  hell-bent on spending time in the middle in order to win back his England place!

You will fly direct out of Manchester on Tuesday 17th March, returning on Thursday 26th March and have a choice of two superb hotels.
