Drax Cup 2011
It's Drax Cup time again!
The Drax Cup is the biggest cricket competition for the Under 9s age group in the country. Now in its fifth year, the competition continues to get bigger and better with more than 1,500 schools registered to take part in the Drax Cup 2011.
Please see the 'Info Pack' and 'Rules & Regulations' sections at the right of this page for details about how to get involved and precisely how the competition works.
The competition is sponsored by Drax Power Limited and organised by the Yorkshire Cricket Board in conjunction with Yorkshire County Cricket Club and the Yorkshire Schools' Cricket Association.
Peter Emery, production director of Drax said: "The Drax Cup gets stronger each year and we're naturally delighted that more and more schools want to take part. Youth sport and education are two important themes of our support for communities and this competition is an important aspect of this."
The Drax Cup is part of the 'Cricket In The Community' scheme designed to provide cricket coaching in primary schools as part of the company's support for education and to promote sports learning as part of the National Curriculum, which is supported the the Yorkshire Cricket Board.
