Notes from the Members' Committee Meeting held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012

The Club confirmed that a new Chief Executive should be in position by mid-summer.

The Club was still looking at the installation of floodlighting and seeking a licence to hold concerts. Tickets for the 2012 Test against South Africa continued to sell well, with Friday and Saturday almost sold out.

Membership renewals had now passed 5,000 - approximately in line with 2011.

Andy Dawson, the new Commercial Director, outlined his role and the approach he intended to follow. The chairman invited him to attend these meetings and the Member Forums on a regular basis. Andy readily agreed.

Further debate took place on the proposals outlined in the ECB Morgan Report. Consideration was given as to how best to continue to collect views from the membership, and it was agreed to put the subject to the membership at the next day's forum.

The possibility of sending a questionnaire was discussed, as suggested at the AGM. It was felt unnecessary to incur such costs, given the collation of views from members undertaken through the forum meetings last season and other discussions held during the winter.

The subject was of such importance that it was agreed to continue reporting back to the Board the views collected.

Two members of the Committee were asked to examine with the Club management possible arrangements for members to view play from the Pavilion Balcony.
