August 2011 Update
Notes from the Members’ Committee meeting held on Monday, August 22, 2011
The Committee raised yet again the possibility of access to the Pavilion for members. Concern was expressed that after much debate little or no progress had been made. It was accepted that any such access had to be limited, given the terms of the package sold to debenture holders, and that there would not be access to refreshments at balcony level.
There was a review of the topics discussed at the member forums, and it was agreed to try to raise the substantive nature of the issues by providing a Help Desk in the East Stand Long Room at lunchtime on specified days during the season. Members would be encouraged to take the more personal issues to this desk. The initiative would be publicised just before the start of the 2012 season.
There was a further lengthy and more detailed discussion on potential changes to the Options scheme for 2012. The Committee emphasised that there must be no overall price increase and, indeed, there should be reductions to reflect fixture changes.
Membership levels by option were examined with the overall conclusion that there had been little, if any, reduction in membership during the year - merely some movement between types of Option.
