Notes from the Members' Committee Meeting held on Monday, May 14, 2012

The Club had provided an update on the sales of One-Day International and Test tickets. These were generally in line with budget, but there was slight concern about the ODI sales.

Membership renewals were marginally down on last year at this stage of the season. The distribution of sales by Option category was looked at with specific emphasis on possible changes for 2013.

The Committee reported back on several issues members had raised at the Scarborough fixture. The Chairman formally registered concern that the rugby club had taken over the use of the Long Room during a county match, effectively evicting YCCC members.

A preliminary discussion took place on potential changes to the Options scheme for 2013, the overall objective being to grow membership and general attendance levels. It was agreed to devote the whole of the next meeting on July 2 to this topic with all Committee members submitting proposals before the meeting for circulation.

A report was given on the proposed programme for celebrating the 150th anniversary of the founding of Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 2013. The first event would be an evening at the Sheffield Crucible Theatre in early January, when coaches from Headingley would be provided for those members based in West or North Yorkshire.

There would be a Thanksgiving Service at York Minster in June and a celebratory match later that month at Headingley. Finally, a dinner would be held in September at Headingley.
