Notes from the Members’ Committee meeting held on Monday, September 24, 2012
The Club confirmed the decisions taken on the Options Scheme for 2013 and international-match pricing. Discussion centred on details of benefits applying to the options available together with the other new categories.
Issues raised at the member forum during the last match were discussed in detail, item by item. It was suggested that a management representative with responsibility for operations should attend the forums in future so that members could receive an instant response.
A lengthy debate took place on the fixture schedules, which each year appeared less attractive to members and non-member spectators. It was accepted that the ECB had a difficult task in satisfying all county requirements, but the Committee asked that yet again the Club lobby for a much better spread throughout the next season.
It was agreed that the 2012 schedule of 10 weeks in mid-season without a first-class fixture at Headingley and four consecutive away games was unacceptable.
