Members' Committee
The Members' Committee was established to provide a representative body for the Club membership. The Committee meet with the Club management on a frequent basis throughout the year to ensure that matters of substance affecting the membership as a whole receive the appropriate degree of discussion and consideration.
The Committee also work with the Management Team on a variety of projects such as the Options Membership Scheme and the new Carnegie Pavilion to ensure that the views and interests of the Members are reflected in key decisions.
Structure
The Committee usually consists of 4 elected members and 4 co-opted members. The Chief Executive is also a full and active member of the committee. Thus it is a 10 members committee. Co-opted members are asked to join the committee so that their expertise and experience in business and/or cricket matters becomes available to the full membership. They are an important and invaluable resource for the full committee.
The elections take place each year with the result being announced at the AGM. One elected member stands down each year giving a 4-year rotation.
Members wishing to stand for election should obtain a nomination form from the office of the Chief Executive. This form should then be returned to that office by 31st December complete with the names and signatures of 10 nominators who are themselves full members.
Chairman's Report
The Chairman produces a report on the year's key activities and this is published in the Annual Report of the Club and reproduced in the Year Book.
In addition, it is intended that from early 2008 the Chairman will report periodically to the membership on current matters of substance the committee is discussing with the executive management of the Club. This report will be published on the website.
Communications
Members wishing to raise an issue of importance with a member of the Committee should:
- speak directly to them on match days
- contact the Chairman on mlc@yorkshireccc.com, or
- write to the Chairman at the office of the Club's Chief Executive. The correspondence will then be passed to the Chairman for a response.
