Change4Life

Change 4 Life is the Department of Health’s strategy to get the nation to eat well, move more and live longer. Yorkshire County Cricket Club, the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation and Change 4 Life have had an effective and beneficial partnership since 2009 and a number of the programmes have been supported with financial backing from Change 4 Life in return for the delivery of key messages.

Men’s Health Week (Monday 14^th – Sunday 20^th May)

Yorkshire County Cricket Club supported Men’s Health Week with player video messages, health checks and hand outs at the t20 Yorkshire v Lancashire match. The Yorkshire squad wore Change 4 Life shirts for the three matches held during the week. The RAF Falcons parachute Display Team who dropped in to Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground for the Lancashire match also wore the Change 4 Life shirts under their suits. 

Delivery of key messages in educational programmes

Change 4 Life’s key messages about eating well, moving more and living longer have been included in the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation’s educational programmes and promoted as part of a player’s healthy lifestyle to endorse the messages. Change 4 Life and Yorkshire Cricket Quiz Books  have been created and handed out to all children on educational programmes along with snack swap wheels.

Test Match Interval Displays

120 young people from local cricket clubs and BME Cricket Development Centres wore Change 4 Life t-shirts during the Test Match interval Kwik Cricket displays across 3 days of the Test. Tickets were provided for the young people so they could enjoy the match either side of the lunch period exposing them to professional cricket and hopefully inspiring them to continue playing.

Cricket Factory 2010

Children’s cricket activities at match days throughout the season have been supported by Change 4 Life and provided children with the opportunity to play on pitch during lunch intervals, on the Throw Show and the ECB Cricket Factory at selected matches. 

Match Day Promotions

Change 4 Life messages have been endorsed by Yorkshire County Cricket Club and it’s players throughout the season and promoted through banners, leaflets, quiz books, big screen messages, announcements around the ground and staff wearing hoodies and t-shirts around the ground on match days.
