Yorkshire Cricket Museum and Visitors Centre

The Yorkshire Cricket Museum will educate and inspire visitors in Yorkshire's cricketing heritage. The Museum will be open on every domestic match day during the season. Entry is free of charge, but visitors are welcome to make a donation to the Charity which will fund the ongoing running costs of the museum, and the cost of future displays.

A striking collage of the twenty grounds where Yorkshire have played first greets visitors as they walk into the reception area.  Once past reception, the museum is subdivided into a number of themed zones such as 'The Early Years' and 'Yorkshire Legends' before visitors enter a cinema room.

A selection of Bats and Balls used by great players and in significant games are displayed, together with interactive monitors and displays. The major matches in Roses conflicts have dedicated displays, together with other great games. 

Of particular significance is the section on Yorkshire legends. No other county can claim such an array of international talent in its history.

In the cinema room, people are able to watch a short film which includes interviews and clips from Yorkshire legends, and other items related to Yorkshire history.

Throughout the Museum there are opportunities for visitors to interact with the exhibits including an electronic books which tell the history of the Club.

The exterior glass line features a striking montage of Yorkshire’s greatest players running along the full length of the Museum area. 

In the future, the museum will display the work of young people from the Foundation’s educational programmes along with the Runs on the Board exhibition in 2011. Young people visiting the ground for the Cricket in the Classroom initiative will also be provided with the opportunity to visit the Museum.

The museum will be open at the following times during home YCCC matchdays:

• LV=CC: 10:00 - 11:00, 13:00 - 14:00
• CB40: 13:00 - 14:00
• FLt20: From 1 hour before the start of play until play begins

Entry is free for YCCC members but there is a suggested donation of £3 per visit in order to help fund the upkeep of the museum.

The Archives Committee are able to organise tours of the Museum and/or Headingley Carnegie Cricket Ground for your Club, party or organisation. Catering facilities can be arranged in conjunction with any tour.

For practical reasons it is not always possible to adhere to a fixed itinerary. There are no tours on match days or on preparation days. Full tours take approximately two hours but can be tailored to suit individual group requirements. The Club shop can be opened by prior request.

The Museum is an ideal venue for lunches and dinners.
