Mick Lewis reflects on chaotic day two at The Kia Oval

“We usually say day three is moving day, but it’s been a fast-forward 24 hours or so.” Mick Lewis was certainly not wrong as he assessed day two at The Kia Oval, one which saw 23 wickets fall, all four innings make an appearance on the same day and Surrey end it on 27-0 chasing 185.

The seam bowlers of Yorkshire and Surrey had a field day during a quite remarkable 23-wicket second day of their madcap Rothesay County Championship match against Surrey at The Kia Oval, with both sides still eyeing victory. 

Yorkshire seamer Hannah Rainey was left feeling mightily frustrated after her side suffered a Metro Bank One-Day Cup defeat against Somerset at Headingley on a day when she claimed three wickets, including one with the first ball of the match.
